Includes:
Grande Prairie Community Opioid Response Task Force - a co-ordinated community effort in responding to the opioid crisis to develop a response based on local needs and resources; includes a Needle Disposal Guide to help address the issue of drug and needle debris in the community
Homeless Initiatives - partnership of community agencies to provide housing supports and move people out of shelters and into homes; initiatives include Housing Loss Prevention Program, Housing Support Program, Annual Memorial Event, Bi-Annual Point In Time Count, Annual Connect Day (connecting individuals experiencing homelessness to community supports), and Annual Event (reporting to the community on successes and outcomes); includes a Street Survival Guide to connect individuals experiencing homelessness in Grande Prairie to community resources
Integrated Co-ordinated Access - improves citizens’ knowledge about where and how to access help when they need it and increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the supports network in Grande Prairie; people in Grande Prairie who don't have a place to live / are experiencing homelessness can call the Integrated Co-ordinated Access Line for support
Local Immigration Partnership - offers information and supports for newcomers to Grande Prairie; includes a Grande Prairie Newcomers Guide
Mobile Outreach Programs - a diversion program focused on mitigating the impacts of street-level social disorder, addiction, and public intoxication; assists businesses and residents in handling their concerns related to the street-engaged population; concerns may include: trespassing, loitering, disturbances, public intoxication, needle debris, and encampments; intended to provide immediate support for a client’s basic needs and navigation through local service systems such as emergency shelters, health care, addictions treatment, and housing
