November 2003 - InformAlberta's provincial on-line directory of
publicly funded and/or not-for-profit community, health, social,
and government organizations and services is live and growing daily.
The directory is maintained by the
InformAlberta Partners – health regions and community information & referral
services across Alberta.
The Partners ensure the accuracy of the information and add
new
organizations and services.
InformAlberta follows the
AIRS
Infoline Taxonomy classification
system and is founded on the principles of accessibility, community parternship,
using technology and the Internet as an enabler.
InformAlberta developed from a pilot – informcalgary – that
went live in 2000.
Many funders have contributed to InformAlberta: Health Link Alberta,
The Calgary and Capital Health Regions, The City of Calgary, Alberta
Health & Wellness, Health Canada, Connect Calgary, and Industry Canada.
InformAlberta is one of many provincial partners in the national
InformCanada network
of community information and referral services.
